Karthik and the Fire Within

In a peaceful village lived a young boy named Karthik. He was kind and bright, but he had one big problem: he lost his temper very easily. One sunny afternoon, while Karthik was proudly showing off a clay model he had spent hours making, his little sister, Meera, accidentally bumped into it, breaking it into pieces. Karthik’s face turned bright red. His heart raced, and in a fit of rage, he grabbed a small stone, intending to throw it at Meera. Meera burst into tears, trembling with fear. Just then, his grandfather, an old and wise man, stepped in and gently held Karthik’s hand. 'Karthik, stop,' Grandfather said softly. 'If you throw that stone, you might hurt Meera physically. But even if you don't hurt anyone, this anger inside you is like a fire that burns your own peace first. Anger is a poison that destroys the person who carries it before it ever reaches anyone else.' Karthik looked at his shaking hands and realized how much he had scared his sister. He felt a deep sense of regret. He hugged Meera and apologized. From that day on, whenever he felt the heat of anger rising, he would take a deep breath and wait for the storm to pass.
