Arjun and the Golden Toy

In a peaceful valley lived a young boy named Arjun. Arjun had many toys, but he was never satisfied. He always wanted whatever was new or shiny. One afternoon, he saw a magnificent golden spinning top in the village market. From that moment, he couldn't think of anything else. He stopped playing with his old toys, he stopped eating his meals happily, and he even stopped sleeping well. His heart felt heavy with a restless longing. His grandfather, seeing his distress, sat him down and said, 'Arjun, desire is like a thirst that grows the more you drink. It brings a shadow of sadness that follows you everywhere.' Arjun realized that his obsession with the toy was making him miserable. He decided to let go of the need to own it. He practiced being content with what he had. Slowly, the intense craving faded away. To his surprise, once that heavy desire vanished, a deep and lasting sense of peace filled his heart. He found joy in the birds singing and the sun shining, a joy that didn't depend on any object. He was finally truly happy.
