In a peaceful valley lived a farmer named Arjun. Arjun was known for his calm nature and his ability to observe the smallest changes in the world around him. His friend, Ravi, was quite the opposite; he lived only for the moment and often ignored warnings. One summer, as the seasons were changing, Arjun noticed that the birds were flying lower than usual and the ants were building higher mounds. He felt a deep sense of unease.
'Ravi,' Arjun said one evening, 'the wind feels heavy, and the insects are acting strangely. I think a massive storm is coming. I must reinforce my granary and clear the drainage ditches near my crops.' Ravi laughed, 'Arjun, you worry too much! Look at the bright moon tonight. Come, let's enjoy the evening!'
Arjun didn't let laughter distract him. He spent the next few days working hard. He repaired his roof, secured his harvested grain in waterproof containers, and ensured that the paths around his farm could handle heavy water flow. A week later, a fierce and unexpected storm hit the valley. The winds howled, and torrential rain flooded the lowlands. Ravi’s house was damaged, and his stored crops were ruined by the dampness. However, Arjun’s farm remained safe and dry. Seeing Ravi’s distress, Arjun helped him rebuild. He gently explained that being prepared is not about being afraid, but about being wise enough to protect what matters.
