The Right Words at the Right Time

In a peaceful village lived a young boy named Ilango. He was bright and energetic, but he had one habit: he would blurt out whatever came to his mind without thinking about who he was talking to or when it was the right time. One afternoon, the village elder, Grandpa Manickam, was sharing an important story with a group of people. Suddenly, Ilango ran in and shouted, "Grandpa, you are wrong!" The crowd went silent. Grandpa Manickam remained calm, but the bluntness of Ilango's words hurt the feelings of those listening. That evening, Ilango's father took him to the garden. He pointed to a small plant and asked, "Ilango, if you water a plant when it is thirsty, it grows. But what happens if you pour a bucket of water on it when the soil is already soaked?" Ilango thought for a moment and said, "The plant might rot, Father." His father smiled gently and said, "Our words are just like that. Even if you want to tell the truth or correct someone, you must choose the right moment and the right way to say it. If you speak at the wrong time or too harshly, your good intention will only cause harm." From that day on, Ilango learned to pause. Before speaking, he began to ask himself, 'Is this the right time? Is this the right way?' His words became a source of joy and wisdom for everyone.
