In a peaceful village lived two inseparable friends, Arjun and Ravi. They had grown up playing together since they were toddlers. Arjun’s family was quite poor. One winter, Arjun’s father fell seriously ill, and the family struggled to pay for the medicines. Feeling helpless, Arjun approached Ravi. Ravi, wanting to help his friend, immediately gave him all his savings. 'Don't worry, Arjun, this is our money,' Ravi said warmly. However, a few days later, when the village elders gathered, Ravi did something unexpected. When asked about Arjun's situation, Ravi said, 'Arjun managed everything on his own with his small savings.' He didn't mention his help at all. Arjun felt a sharp sting in his heart. He realized that while Ravi had given him money, he hadn't treated the help as a shared responsibility born of intimacy. He felt like a stranger receiving charity rather than a friend receiving support. Seeing the sadness in Arjun's eyes, Ravi realized his mistake. He went to Arjun and said, 'I am sorry, my friend. I shouldn't have kept my help a secret. From now on, your struggles are mine, and I will stand by you as your own.' Only then did Arjun feel the warmth of true friendship.
