It is the duty of kings to affect great love but make it die (inwardly); as regard those foes who shew them great friendship but despise them (in their heart)

In a lush green forest, there lived a wise lion named Leo. Leo was a kind ruler, but he was also very observant. Among the animals lived a fox named Felix, who was always seen bowing to Leo, showering him with compliments. 'Oh, Great King Leo, your wisdom is unmatched!' Felix would say with a wide, friendly smile. However, behind that smile, Felix secretly plotted to take over the forest. One afternoon, Felix approached Leo and whispered, 'Your Majesty, there is a great danger coming from the north. You must leave your throne for a few days to stay safe.' Leo, being a sharp leader, immediately sensed the deceit in Felix's eyes. He realized that while Felix acted like a devoted friend, his heart was filled with contempt and greed. Instead of getting angry or starting a fight, Leo smiled warmly and said, 'Thank you, dear Felix, for your concern. I will think about it.' Leo continued to treat Felix with kindness and politeness, but he never shared his secrets or trusted him with any important decisions. When Felix finally tried to lead a group of animals to trap Leo, the lion was already prepared. Leo’s wisdom saved him; he showed kindness to the face of the enemy but kept his guard up against the false friendship.
