In a vast jungle lived a mighty lion named Leo. All the animals feared his roar. One afternoon, while Leo was napping under a shady tree, a tiny mouse named Pip accidentally scurried over his nose. Leo woke up with a thunderous growl and trapped Pip under his massive paw. 'How dare you disturb my sleep!' Leo roared. 'I shall crush you!'

Pip trembled, 'Please, King Leo! I didn't mean to. Forgive me, and one day, I might be able to help you.' Leo laughed heartily, 'You? Help me? You are too small to even be noticed!' However, feeling amused rather than angry, Leo let the little mouse go.

A few days later, Leo was caught in a hunter's heavy rope net. He struggled and roared, but the more he fought, the tighter the ropes became. Just as he began to lose hope, Pip heard the roar and rushed to the scene. Without wasting a second, Pip used his sharp little teeth to gnaw through the thick ropes. Soon, the net broke, and Leo was free.

Leo looked at Pip with deep respect. An old monkey watching from a tree asked, 'Leo, why didn't you punish that tiny mouse for bothering you?' Leo replied, 'I realized that fighting someone much stronger than me was useless, but I should never have underestimated the value of a small friend. However, I must also remember that even a small creature's mischief should be handled with care.'

The Lesson

Avoid unnecessary conflict with the powerful, but never underestimate the impact of the small.
