In a peaceful village lived Ilango, a skilled sculptor, and his kind wife, Nila. One day, Ilango was invited to work in a grand palace garden. While working, he spotted a magnificent, sparkling diamond hidden in a corner. A sudden, intense desire gripped his heart. He thought, 'If I take this, I will be the richest man ever!' To him, the thrill of this desire felt as vast and exciting as the ocean.
However, as the days passed, the desire began to consume him. He could no longer focus on his art, and his mind was constantly racing with thoughts of the diamond. He became restless and anxious, unable to enjoy the simple beauty of nature or the warmth of Nila’s company. The fear of being caught haunted his every step. Eventually, he realized that the heavy weight of guilt and anxiety was far greater than any joy the diamond could have ever provided. He learned that chasing fleeting desires only leads to a sea of sorrow.
