In a peaceful village lived a couple named Ilamathi and Kathir. Kathir was a hardworking man who had to travel to a distant city for work to support his family. After he left, Ilamathi’s days became heavy with loneliness. Every evening, she would sit by the wooden gate, gazing at the long, winding path that led to the village. She lost her appetite, and sleep became a stranger to her. Her heart was filled with a deep, aching longing. One day, she told her friend, 'The house feels so empty without him. I am just waiting for that one day when he returns. When he is finally here, all this sadness will simply melt away.' Weeks passed, and one golden evening, a shadow appeared on the horizon. It was Kathir! He walked toward her with a bright smile, carrying small treats and a few wildflowers. As soon as Ilamathi saw him, her face lit up like the morning sun. The crushing weight of her sorrow vanished the moment they embraced. His presence was the only medicine she needed to heal her lonely heart.
