In the heart of a vast forest, a powerful lion lay resting under the cool shade of a large tree outside his cave. The lion was feeling very exhausted after a long day. As he slowly closed his eyes to drift into a deep sleep, a mischievous fox was watching him from behind a nearby bush.

Seeing the lion's eyes closed, the fox thought to himself, "The king looks so tired and weak today. There is no danger here at all!"

A playful and naughty idea entered the fox's mind. Instead of walking away, he decided to tease the sleeping lion. First, the fox crept toward some dry leaves and stepped on them loudly, making a 'crunch-crunch' sound. The lion opened one eye, looked at the fox, and then quietly closed it again.

Not satisfied, the fox climbed onto a nearby rock and began jumping up and down, making as much noise as possible. The lion stirred uncomfortably but remained lying down. Finally, the fox climbed a low branch and shook it, sending leaves falling right onto the lion's nose.

Finally, the lion opened both eyes fully. He didn't roar in anger, but his gaze was steady and commanding. He spoke in a calm, deep voice, "Little fox, I am resting because I am weary. But do not mistake my silence for weakness. If I were at full strength, I could chase down ten foxes like you in a single heartbeat. Do you truly wish to see how fast I can run?"

The fox froze. The seriousness in the lion's voice made him realize how close he had come to danger. He understood that the lion was being kind by not attacking him, but that kindness had limits. Without saying a word, the fox turned and bolted into the deep forest as fast as his legs could carry him.
