On the edge of a vast, emerald forest lived a small family of rabbits. Because the forest was home to many predators, the parent rabbits always taught their little bunny how to stay safe and recognize danger.
One morning, before the father rabbit headed out to find fresh clover, he gave his little bunny a special instruction. "Listen closely, little one. If anyone knocks on our door while I am away, do not open it immediately. First, ask them, 'Is the forest breeze blowing?' Only if they answer, 'Yes, the leaves are dancing!', should you trust them and open the door."
Unbeknownst to them, a hungry fox was hiding behind a nearby bush, eavesdropping on their conversation.
As soon as the father rabbit disappeared into the woods, the fox crept up to the burrow and knocked softly on the door. The little bunny, feeling cautious, called out, "Who is there?"
The fox, trying to sound friendly, asked, "Is the forest breeze blowing?"
Remembering the secret, the fox replied, "Yes, the leaves are dancing!"
The little bunny paused. Something felt wrong. It remembered its parents' lessons about listening closely. "Your voice sounds too harsh and scratchy!" the bunny shouted. "And I can see your sharp, pointed claws through the crack in the door! You are a fox!"
The fox froze in shock. Before it could react, the little bunny let out a loud, panicked scream, "Mom! Dad! Come quickly! The Great Lion is approaching the house!"
Terrified by the mention of the lion, the fox turned tail and sprinted away into the deep woods as fast as its legs could carry it. Thanks to the bunny's quick thinking and alertness, the family remained safe.
