Deep within a lush forest, a strong horse named Swift was wandering through the trees. The sun was beginning to set, and Swift felt incredibly exhausted. He had been traveling for many hours in search of fresh grass and cool water, but the ground beneath him was dry and barren.
From behind a thick bush, a hungry wolf was watching Swift's every move. The wolf's eyes gleamed with greed. 'Look at that massive horse!' the wolf whispered to himself. 'If I can catch him, my whole pack will feast for a week!'
However, the wolf knew he couldn't take on such a large animal alone. He needed to lure Swift back to the hidden den where his pack was waiting. He decided to use trickery instead of force.
Approaching Swift with a fake, friendly smile, the wolf said, 'Greetings, traveler! You look quite weary. Why don't you come with me? Just a short walk away, there is a hidden meadow filled with the sweetest clover and a sparkling stream. I found it just this morning!'
Swift, being a very observant animal, stopped in his tracks. He looked closely at the wolf's nervous eyes and the way he was twitching. 'That is very kind of you,' Swift replied calmly, 'but tell me, why would a wolf know anything about sweet clover? And if such a wonderful place exists, why would you share it with a stranger like me instead of eating it all yourself?'
The wolf stammered, unable to come up with a believable lie. He realized that his disguise had failed. Seeing the wolf's hesitation, Swift added, 'I see through your plan. I would rather walk through the dry desert than follow a predator into a trap.'
Swift quickly galloped away towards a safer part of the forest, leaving the embarrassed wolf behind in the shadows. Swift had saved himself by using his wits rather than his strength.
