In a peaceful village, there lived a kind-hearted farmer named Arun. He was known for his gentle nature and for treating every living creature with compassion. One sunny morning, Arun went to his field to sow precious grain seeds. After finishing his hard work, he sat under the shade of a tree to rest.

High up in a nearby banyan tree, a group of owls was watching him. As soon as Arun closed his eyes for a moment, the owls swooped down. They began pecking at the soil and eating the seeds he had just sown.

When Arun opened his eyes, he was heartbroken to see his hard work being destroyed. He grabbed a small wooden stick and tried to shoo them away. However, the owls were clever. They noticed he was only using a light stick and realized it wouldn't hurt them. They continued to feast on the seeds without any fear.

Frustrated and losing his patience, Arun thought, 'My kindness is being taken for weakness!' He went to the edge of the field and picked up a heavy stone. He returned with the stone, intending to scare them away for good. As he swung the stone to protect his crops, one of the owls was struck and fell heavily to the ground. The other owls flew away in terror.

Arun stood there, feeling a mix of regret and realization. He understood that while kindness is a virtue, being too soft when protecting one's livelihood can lead to unintended consequences and chaos.
