In a peaceful village, two houses stood side by side. The first house was always filled with loud arguments and shouting. No matter how small the issue, the family members would argue with one another. In contrast, the second house was always calm, filled with laughter and kindness.
Somu, the head of the first family, was deeply troubled by the constant fighting. He wondered, 'How can we live as peacefully as our neighbors?' One afternoon, he decided to observe the neighboring family quietly through their window.
As he watched, he saw Ravi, the head of the second family, accidentally knock over a glass of water. The water spilled across the table. Immediately, Ravi’s children rushed over and said, 'Oh no, Father! We were playing near the table and caused this. Please forgive us!' Then, Ravi’s wife came to help, saying, 'It was my oversight; I should have moved the glass.' Instead of getting angry or blaming anyone, Ravi calmly picked up a cloth and said, 'It is alright. Mistakes happen. Let us clean it up together.'
Watching this, Somu had a sudden realization. He understood that when a problem arises, arguing about who is to blame does not fix anything. True peace comes from accepting a mistake and working together to correct it.
Somu went home with a new perspective. He approached his wife and said, 'I am sorry for the shouting this morning. It was my temper that caused the trouble.' Seeing his sincerity, his wife also apologized for her part in the argument. Slowly, the shouting stopped, and the first house began to feel just as peaceful as the second.
