It was a scorching summer afternoon. An elderly wise man was traveling through a small, dusty village. The heat was intense, and his throat felt parched with thirst. As he walked along a narrow path, he spotted a group of people near an old stone well.
An old man and his three sons were working together. They were lifting heavy buckets of water from the deep well and pouring them into large clay pots. The wise man watched them for a moment, feeling puzzled. In this era, many people used pulleys and simple machines to make such tasks easier.
"My dear friend," the wise man called out, "Why do you and your sons toil so hard with your hands? Surely, you could use a simple pulley to make this work much lighter?"
The old man wiped the sweat from his forehead and smiled kindly. "You are right, sir. A machine would certainly make the task faster. But machines also make our bodies lazy. Since I was a young boy, I have carried these buckets every single day. Because of this daily effort, even at eighty years old, my body remains strong and my spirit is energetic."
He then gestured toward his sons. "I want my sons to inherit more than just land; I want them to inherit health. By teaching them this hard work, I am ensuring they grow up strong and capable, just like me."
The wise man nodded in respect, realizing that true wealth lies in a healthy and hardworking body.
