Long ago, in a lush green forest, every animal lived in harmony. The Creator had carefully assigned each creature its perfect food. The monkeys were given sweet, colorful fruits from the treetops, while the giraffes were given the tender green leaves from the lower branches.
However, a young giraffe named Gira felt that leaves were boring. She watched the monkeys swinging happily, munching on juicy mangoes and berries. 'Why should they have all the fun?' she thought. Despite the rules, Gira began to sneak into the monkey groves at night, stealing their precious fruit supply.
The monkeys were heartbroken. Their leader, Milo the Monkey, prayed to the Great Spirit, 'Please, help us! Our food is disappearing, and we are left hungry.' A gentle voice echoed through the trees, 'I will not appear before you, but justice will find its way through your companions.'
One afternoon, a large elephant named Elly approached the monkey's fruit pile. Gira, instead of being helpful, decided to use this as an excuse to act even more boldly. She ran up to Elly and shouted, 'How dare you! You are a big, clumsy thief! You think you can just take what is ours?' She mocked Elly's size and strength, trying to make the elephant look bad in front of everyone.
Elly the elephant was a peaceful soul, but she would not tolerate such rudeness. To teach Gira a lesson about respect and greed, Elly wrapped her powerful trunk gently but firmly around Gira's neck. As Gira struggled and the tension grew, something miraculous and strange happened—her neck began to stretch and stretch, reaching higher and higher toward the sky.
Gira was now very tall, but she realized a problem. She could no longer bend down to reach the sweet fruits on the ground or the low bushes. She had become a victim of her own stretching greed. Realizing her mistake, Gira apologized to the monkeys and the elephant. From that day on, she accepted her gift of long height to eat the high leaves, leaving the fruits to the monkeys.
