In a large, cozy farmhouse, a group of mischievous mice lived happily. They were very clever, but they were also quite greedy. Every night, they would sneak out of their holes to feast on the farmer's grain, cheese, and delicious fruits. The farmer grew tired of seeing his hard work being eaten away and decided he needed to protect his pantry.
To solve the problem, the farmer brought home a sleek, watchful cat. As soon as the cat arrived, the atmosphere in the house changed. The mice, once bold and loud, became silent and fearful. They stayed hidden in their dark corners, too afraid to come out for even a single crumb.
One evening, the mice gathered in a secret meeting to find a solution. An old, wise mouse stood up and said, "Listen, everyone! We cannot live like this in fear forever. We need a way to know when the cat is approaching. If we could tie a small bell around the cat's neck, we would hear it jingling long before it reaches us. That way, we can hide in time!"
The mice cheered loudly. "What a brilliant idea!" they squeaked, dancing with joy. They imagined a life where they could eat freely again, knowing exactly where the cat was.
However, a tiny, young mouse stood up and asked a very simple question: "That is a wonderful plan. But who among us is brave enough to go near the cat and tie the bell around its neck?"
Suddenly, the room went silent. The mice looked at each other, but no one moved. The great idea was perfect, but no one was willing to take the risk to make it happen.
Moral
It is easy to propose a plan, but much harder to carry it out.
