Deep within a lush, green forest, there was a sparkling stream where a young frog named Flip lived. Flip was very proud of his powerful legs. He believed he was the strongest jumper in the entire forest, and he spent his days constantly leaping and splashing, making sure everyone noticed him.
One sunny afternoon, an old, wise owl named Otis was resting peacefully in the hollow of a large oak tree. Flip, looking for attention, hopped over to the tree. 'Hey, Otis!' he shouted, jumping wildly near the trunk. 'Why are you sleeping during such a beautiful day? Watch me! I can jump higher than anyone else!' His constant thumping and jumping made it impossible for Otis to rest.
Otis opened his large, sleepy eyes and looked at the restless frog. Instead of getting angry, Otis decided to teach Flip a lesson. 'Flip,' Otis said calmly, 'your legs are indeed impressive. But if you truly want to prove your greatness, you should try jumping from the top of the Great Grey Rock. Only the bravest and strongest jumper can land safely from there.'
Flushed with pride, Flip didn't stop to think about the danger. 'That's easy!' he boasted. 'I am the king of jumpers!' He raced toward the Great Grey Rock, which stood tall at the edge of the clearing. When he reached the top, the ground felt much harder and the height was much greater than he had imagined.
Driven by his ego, Flip took a massive leap. However, instead of a graceful landing, he hit the hard ground with a painful thud. His legs, which he was so proud of, were now trembling with pain. As he sat there, nursing his bruised legs, Flip realized that his boasting had not only caused him pain but had also disturbed the peace of others. He learned that true strength doesn't need to be shouted about.
Moral
Pride leads to a fall; respect the peace and boundaries of others.
