In a lush forest near a quiet meadow, there lived a clever crow named Kalu. One scorching summer afternoon, the sun beat down mercilessly, and Kalu felt an overwhelming thirst. He flew over hills and valleys, searching for a stream or a pond, but the heat had dried up almost everything in sight.
Exhausted and weak, Kalu felt like he could not fly even a little further. Just as he was about to give up, he spotted an old, abandoned garden. In the middle of that garden, he saw a small clay pot sitting under a withered tree. 'Perhaps there is water in there!' he thought with a glimmer of hope.
He flew down to the pot and peered inside. To his delight, there was some water at the bottom! However, when he tried to reach it, he realized the water was too low and the neck of the pot was too narrow. No matter how hard he stretched, his beak could not touch the cool liquid. Kalu felt a wave of sadness. 'I have searched so far, only to find water I cannot even drink,' he sighed.
Instead of losing hope, Kalu sat still and observed his surroundings. He noticed many small pebbles scattered on the ground nearby. An idea began to form in his mind. He picked up a pebble in his beak and dropped it into the pot. Plop! He dropped another, and another.
As more pebbles settled at the bottom, the water level began to rise slowly. Kalu worked tirelessly, carrying pebble after pebble. Eventually, the water reached the very top of the pot. Kalu happily drank his fill, feeling refreshed and proud of his quick thinking. He had turned a difficult situation into a victory through patience and intelligence.
