In the heart of a lush green forest, a large flock of pigeons lived in harmony. Their leader was an old, wise pigeon who had seen many seasons. Because the flock always followed his cautious guidance, they lived a peaceful and safe life.
One bright morning, the flock flew further than usual in search of food, eventually reaching a strange and unfamiliar valley. The younger pigeons, having flown for hours under the hot sun, were exhausted and hungry. Suddenly, they spotted a scattering of golden grains spread across a flat, rocky clearing.
'Look! A feast awaits us!' chirped one of the young pigeons, eager to descend.
'Wait!' commanded the elder pigeon, hovering above. 'Look closely. There are no trees or bushes nearby to drop these grains. Why would food appear out in the open like this? It feels like a trap. Do not rush down.'
Driven by hunger, the young pigeons ignored the warning. They swooped down to grab the grains, but as soon as their feet touched the ground, a heavy net snapped shut around them. They were trapped!
'Oh no! We should have listened to him!' the young pigeons cried in despair, fluttering their wings uselessly.
'Don't lose hope,' the elder pigeon said calmly. 'If we panic, we are lost. But if we work together, we can do the impossible. On my signal, we must all flap our wings with every ounce of strength we have and fly upward together!'
With a loud count, the entire flock beat their wings in unison. To their amazement, they managed to lift the entire net off the ground and fly into the sky. However, they were still tangled in the mesh and could not land safely.
'What do we do now?' they asked anxiously.
'I know a small, clever mouse who lives near the old oak tree. He is a friend to all. Let us fly to him,' suggested the elder pigeon.
They flew toward the mouse's burrow. Seeing his friends in trouble, the mouse didn't hesitate. He quickly used his sharp teeth to gnaw through the thick ropes of the net. One by one, the pigeons were freed.
As they sat safely on a branch, the young pigeons apologized to the elder. 'Thank you for saving us and for teaching us,' they said. The elder pigeon smiled and replied, 'Experience is a shield against danger, and unity is the key to overcoming it.'
