In a lush, green forest, lived a little rabbit named Mithun. Mithun was a very social rabbit; he loved spending every moment with his forest friends. Whether it was playing near the river or resting under the big oak tree, Mithun was always surrounded by deer, monkeys, and bears.
One sunny morning, the peace of the forest was shattered. A group of hunters had entered the woods, accompanied by several fierce hunting dogs. These dogs were trained to sniff out and chase any animal they saw. Suddenly, one of the dogs caught Mithun's scent and began barking loudly, charging straight towards him.
Mithun's heart raced with fear. He dashed toward his friend, the young deer. "Please, friend! The dogs are coming for me! Help me hide!" Mithun pleaded. But the deer, trembling with fear, replied, "I am too scared to help you, Mithun. I must save myself!" and bolted away.
Next, Mithun scrambled toward a monkey swinging in the trees. "Monkey friend, please! Catch me and hide me in the branches!" he cried. The monkey looked down nervously and said, "I'm sorry, Mithun, but I can't risk being caught. I have to climb higher!" and swung away into the canopy.
Desperate, Mithun ran to the large bear. "Big bear, please protect me!" he begged. The bear shook his head and said, "I am strong, but even I am afraid of those dogs. I cannot help you right now," and lumbered off into the thicket.
Left all alone, Mithun felt a wave of sadness. He realized that while friends are wonderful for playing, they might not always be there during a real crisis. "I must rely on my own wits to stay safe," he whispered to himself.
As the dogs' barking grew louder and closer, Mithun didn't panic. Instead, he spotted a very dense, thorny bush near a hollow log. He quickly squeezed himself deep into the center of the thorns and sat perfectly still. He held his breath and stayed as quiet as a stone. The dogs arrived, sniffing around the bush and barking loudly, but because Mithun remained motionless and hidden by the sharp thorns, they couldn't find him. After a few tense minutes, the dogs lost interest and moved on.
Mithun finally stepped out of the bush, feeling relieved. He continued to enjoy the company of his friends, but he never forgot the lesson: true safety comes from being prepared and relying on oneself when it matters most.
