In a peaceful valley, a hardworking farmer named Somu lived with his healthy cows. Every morning, Somu would collect fresh, creamy butter from his cows and carry it to a large grocery store in the nearby village to sell. The shopkeeper, Raghu, bought this butter to sell to the villagers.

As time passed, Raghu grew suspicious. He thought, 'Somu brings butter every day, but something feels wrong when I weigh it.' One afternoon, Raghu decided to weigh a batch of butter as soon as Somu arrived. To his surprise, the scale showed it was slightly less than a kilogram. Raghu was furious. He immediately accused Somu of being dishonest and ran to the village elder to complain.

The village elder called Somu to the village square. 'Raghu says you are cheating him with light weights,' the elder said. Somu, remaining calm and dignified, replied, 'Sir, I have always been honest. In fact, I buy all my household supplies from Raghu's shop. Tomorrow, I will bring the butter, and we shall weigh it together in front of everyone.'

The next morning, Somu arrived with a fresh batch. Under the watchful eyes of the elder and the villagers, Somu placed the butter on the scale. It was exactly one kilogram. Raghu was confused and embarrassed.

Seeing this, the elder decided to investigate further. He asked Somu to pick up a few packets of sweets and bags of grain that Raghu had sold to him earlier. When these were weighed, it was discovered that Raghu had been cheating many people by selling underweight goods for a long time. Raghu had tried to blame Somu to hide his own dishonesty. The elder punished Raghu and ordered him to pay back everyone he had cheated. Somu's honesty was rewarded, and the village was safe once again.
