In the heart of a lush green forest lived a bear named Balu. Unlike other bears, Balu had a very unusual habit: he loved to read. He spent most of his afternoons sitting under a large banyan tree, turning the pages of old, weathered books. The other animals often teased him. "Balu, you are a bear! You should be looking for honey or catching fish, not staring at those scraps of paper!" laughed the monkeys and the deer.

Balu never let their words bother him. He knew that every page he read opened a door to a new world. One sunny afternoon, a strange, rhythmic sound pierced the quiet of the forest. 'Ring... Ring... Ring!' The sound was sharp and loud. A small, shiny, rectangular object had fallen from a passing traveler's bag and landed deep in the bushes.

Terrified, the animals scrambled in all directions. "It’s a magical stone! It’s screaming at us!" shrieked a rabbit. The forest was filled with panic. Seeing the chaos, a young fawn ran toward Balu. "Balu, please help! What is that loud, scary thing? Is it a monster?" The other animals gathered around Balu, their eyes wide with fear, pleading for an explanation.

Balu calmly walked toward the object. He recognized it immediately from the books he had studied. "Do not be afraid, my friends," Balu said with a gentle smile. "This is not a monster. It is a communication device used by humans to talk to one another. It fell by accident. It cannot hurt you."

As the animals calmed down, Balu looked at them seriously. "You were all afraid because you did not understand what it was. If you had spent more time learning and reading, this would not have been a mystery to you. Knowledge is like a shield; it protects you from fear and confusion."

The animals felt ashamed of how they had treated Balu. From that day on, they stopped making fun of him. Instead, they gathered around the banyan tree every evening, eager to learn something new from their wise friend.
