In a cozy farmhouse lived a little rabbit named Pip. Pip was energetic and loved to work. However, his housemates—a lazy dog named Buster, a sleepy cat named Luna, and a silly duck named Dilly—preferred doing absolutely nothing all day long.
One bright morning, Pip came out with a small pouch. "Friends! I have found some wonderful carrot seeds. Let's plant them together in the garden!" Pip suggested excitedly.
Buster the dog yawned deeply. "I'm too tired to dig," he mumbled. Luna the cat stretched her paws. "Gardening sounds like too much effort," she purred. Dilly the duck simply shook her head, "I don't know how to plant anything!"
Pip didn't let their laziness discourage him. He spent the whole morning digging small holes, carefully placing the seeds, and covering them with soil. Every day, while the others napped, Pip carried water from the pond to keep his garden growing.
Weeks passed, and soon, bright orange carrots began to peek through the soil. "Look! It's time to harvest! Come and help me pull them out!" Pip called out to his friends.
But the response was the same. Buster said he was too lazy, Luna said it was too messy, and Dilly said she didn't feel like it. Pip sighed, but he didn't stop. He worked hard to pull up every single carrot, cleaned them, and prepared a grand feast.
By evening, the delicious aroma of carrot soup and sweet carrot cake filled the air. Pip brought the steaming bowls outside. "The feast is ready! Everyone is welcome to join!" he announced.
Instantly, Buster, Luna, and Dilly scrambled to their feet. "Oh, that smells amazing! Let's all eat together!" they shouted happily.
Pip looked at them with a calm smile. "You weren't there to plant, you weren't there to water, and you weren't there to harvest. Why should you be here to eat? Hard work brings rewards, but laziness only brings an empty stomach," Pip said kindly but firmly. He then went inside to enjoy his delicious meal.
The three lazy friends watched from afar, feeling very hungry and regretful.

Only those who work hard can enjoy the fruits of their labor.
