In a vast, green forest, there lived a mighty lion. One morning, the lion woke up with a very hungry stomach. He wandered through the thickets and bushes, searching for something to eat. After a long time, he spotted a small rabbit nibbling on some fresh grass near a bush.
The lion began to creep toward the rabbit, moving silently so as not to make a sound. 'This little rabbit will satisfy my hunger for a little while,' he thought to himself. But just as he was about to pounce, his eyes caught sight of a large, graceful deer grazing in a nearby clearing.
A greedy thought entered the lion's mind. 'Why settle for a tiny rabbit when I can catch that deer? One deer will provide enough meat to last me for days!' he reasoned.
Instead of catching the rabbit, the lion changed his direction and raced toward the deer. However, the rustling of leaves alerted the deer. Sensing danger, the deer leaped away and disappeared into the deep woods in a flash. The sudden commotion also frightened the rabbit, which quickly scurried into its burrow to stay safe.
The lion chased the deer for a long time, but he was too late. He ended up exhausted and even hungrier than before. By chasing a bigger prize, he had lost the small meal that was right in front of him.

Greed can make you lose even the small things you already have.
