In a peaceful seaside village lived a young boy named Arjun and his grandfather. Arjun’s grandfather was known for his immense kindness and unwavering honesty. One evening, the village elders warned that a massive storm was approaching.
Arjun’s friend, Rohan, was a restless boy who always looked for shortcuts to get what he wanted. "Arjun, why are we worrying so much?" Rohan asked. "If we just run fast enough and look out only for ourselves, we will survive anything!"
Arjun shook his head. "My grandfather says that to survive the storms of life, our hearts must be anchored in goodness. If we swim in the sea of selfishness, we will surely drown when the waves get high."
When the storm finally hit, the winds howled and the waves crashed violently. Rohan, driven by fear and his own selfish choices, felt lost and terrified, unable to find peace even in his shelter. But Arjun, remembering his grandfather's teachings of patience and faith, remained calm. He helped an elderly neighbor secure their windows, finding strength in doing what was right.
After the storm passed, a shaken Rohan approached Arjun. "I tried to outrun the storm by being selfish, but I felt like I was drowning in fear. How were you so steady?"
Arjun replied softly, "When you hold onto virtue and the grace of the Divine, you aren't just fighting the storm; you are anchored against it."
From that day on, Rohan decided to stop chasing shortcuts and started walking the path of goodness.
