In a peaceful village lived two friends, Somu and Ravi. Somu was known for his honesty, while Ravi often felt envious of what others possessed. One day, the village elder placed a precious golden vessel in his home for safekeeping. Seeing it, a dark thought entered Ravi's mind: 'If we take this, we will never be poor again.'
Somu was shocked. 'Ravi, coveting what belongs to others is a grave mistake. It will bring ruin to our families,' he warned. But Ravi was blinded by greed. Late one night, under the cover of darkness, Ravi tried to sneak into the elder's house. As he reached for the vessel, his foot slipped, and the gold hit the floor with a loud clang. The villagers rushed to the scene and caught him red-handed.
The consequences were immediate and painful. Ravi's family was shamed in the entire village, and his father, a respected man, could no longer hold his head high. Ravi had lost not just the gold, but his dignity and his family's peace. Realizing his mistake, Ravi wept. Somu came to him and said, 'Wealth gained through dishonesty is like a fire that burns down the very house it lives in.' From that day on, Ravi vowed to live a life of integrity.
