In a peaceful village lived two friends, Kavi and Rohan. Kavi was known for his kindness, while Rohan often looked for ways to get ahead by being unfair to others. One sunny afternoon, while the village children were playing, Rohan saw Kavi’s beautiful wooden spinning top. A greedy thought entered Rohan's mind: 'I will take it when no one is looking.' He quickly snatched the toy and hid it in his room. At first, Rohan felt proud of his cleverness. But soon, something strange happened. Every time he saw Kavi, his heart raced with fear. Every time he sat in the sun, he felt as if his own shadow was mocking him for what he had done. He couldn't enjoy his meals or sleep peacefully, feeling as though his secret was a heavy weight following him everywhere. Eventually, the guilt became too much to bear. Rohan went to Kavi, confessed his lie, and returned the toy. Only when he made things right did the heavy feeling leave him, and he could finally walk freely again.
Just like a shadow that never leaves a person, the guilt of Rohan's bad deed followed him constantly until he corrected it.
