In a peaceful village lived a young boy named Leo and his wise grandfather. Every morning, a man named Mr. Silas would visit the village temple. He would perform his prayers with great care, wear spotless white clothes, and speak softly to everyone. The villagers admired him, thinking he was a very holy man.
One afternoon, Leo was playing near the village well when he saw Mr. Silas. While he was alone, Mr. Silas was shouting rudely at an elderly woman who had accidentally bumped into him. He also hid a bag of coins tightly, pretending to the villagers that he had nothing to give to the poor.
Leo felt confused and told his grandfather what he saw. His grandfather sighed and said, 'Leo, some people wear a mask of goodness. They perform rituals and look pure on the outside, but their hearts are filled with unkindness. Never judge a person by the show they put on for others.'
Leo realized that true goodness isn't about how we look to the world, but how we behave when no one is watching.
