In a peaceful village lived a boy named Aryan. He was known for his kind heart and truthful words. His friend, Rohan, was clever but often looked for shortcuts. One sunny afternoon, while playing near the old forest, Rohan spotted a leather pouch hidden under some bushes. When he opened it, his eyes widened—it was filled with gold coins!
'Aryan, look!' Rohan whispered excitedly. 'Let's take this home and hide it. No one saw us!' Aryan looked at the pouch and then at his friend. 'Rohan, this doesn't belong to us. Taking it would be stealing,' Aryan said firmly.
But Rohan was stubborn. He tucked the pouch into his bag and ran home. However, something strange happened. From that day on, Rohan felt constantly uneasy. He couldn't sleep, his stomach often ached, and he felt a heavy weight in his chest every time someone looked at him. His own body seemed to be punishing him for his lie.
Aryan, on the other hand, felt light and happy. He had told the truth to his parents about finding the pouch, and they had helped him report it to the village elder. Seeing Rohan's suffering, Aryan encouraged him to do the right thing. Overcome by guilt, Rohan finally confessed and returned the gold. As soon as he told the truth, the heavy feeling vanished, and he felt healthy and at peace again. They learned that while deceit breaks a person from within, honesty brings the support of the entire world.
