In a peaceful village lived a young boy named Kathir. He was known for his kind and honest heart. One sunny afternoon, while playing near the edge of the forest, Kathir stumbled upon a small, wooden chest hidden under some leaves. When he opened it, his eyes widened in shock—it was filled with shimmering gold coins!

'If I take this, I can buy everything I ever wanted!' Kathir thought excitedly. He imagined new clothes, delicious sweets, and the finest toys. But as he reached for the coins, a memory flashed in his mind. He remembered Old Man Manickam, a lonely elder in the village, crying because he had lost his life savings.

Kathir froze. He realized that if he kept the gold, he would become rich, but Manickam would be heartbroken and devastated. The thought of causing such sorrow to someone else made his heart heavy. He knew what he had to do. Instead of hiding the chest, he carried it straight to Manickam's small cottage.

When Manickam saw the chest, he wept with joy. 'Oh, Kathir! You have saved me!' he cried. He hugged the boy tightly. 'Wealth can be lost, but a person with a pure heart like yours is a true treasure to this world.' Kathir went home that day feeling lighter and happier than any amount of gold could ever make him feel.

The Lesson
