In a peaceful village, a young boy named Arjun lived with his grandfather, a wise old man. One day, the village elders gathered to plan a grand festival. To celebrate, they decided to sacrifice a young lamb to please the gods, believing it would bring prosperity to the entire village.
Arjun was confused. He asked his grandfather, "Grandpa, won't sacrificing the lamb bring us great blessings and good luck?"
His grandfather sat him down and spoke gently. "Arjun, a benefit gained by taking a life might look huge on the outside. But to those who are truly wise, such an act is a disgrace. True virtue lies in protecting life, not destroying it. Any 'good' that comes from the death of a living being is hollow and brings shame to the soul."
Inspired by his grandfather's words, the villagers reconsidered. Instead of the sacrifice, they decided to offer fresh fruits, fragrant flowers, and songs of praise. The festival was more joyful than ever. Arjun realized that kindness and compassion are much greater than any ritual involving harm.
