In a peaceful valley lived a young girl named Aruvi and her father, Somu. Somu was a trusted advisor to the village head. One afternoon, a heated argument broke out between two farmers over a boundary line. The village head turned to Somu to help settle the dispute.
While Somu was thinking, Aruvi ran to him, whispering, 'Father, everyone is saying that the older farmer is being greedy!' Caught in the heat of the moment and wanting to provide a quick answer, Somu spoke hastily, 'It seems the older farmer is indeed being difficult.'
By the next morning, the news had spread like wildfire. However, a witness came forward to prove the older farmer was actually being cheated. The village realized Somu had spoken without knowing the truth. The farmer felt humiliated, and the villagers lost trust in Somu's wisdom. Somu felt a heavy weight in his heart. He sat with Aruvi and said, 'My dear, words are like seeds. They can grow into beautiful flowers or poisonous weeds. As an advisor, my words can build peace or cause ruin. I must guard my speech carefully.' From that day on, Somu always paused to think before he spoke.
