In a peaceful village lived a young boy named Kannan and his father, Somu. Somu was a hardworking man who never touched alcohol. One evening, while walking through the village market with his father, Kannan saw a man stumbling and shouting at people because he was drunk. The man seemed to be laughing loudly, unaware of the chaos he was causing.
Kannan was confused. He turned to his father and asked, "Father, why is he acting like that? Doesn't he know that drinking is bad and causes trouble?"
Somu smiled gently and sat Kannan down. "Kannan, when a person drinks, they enter a world of false joy. In that moment, they completely forget the pain, the shame, and the bad consequences that alcohol brings to their lives. To them, the harm is invisible. A person who is sober, like us, can see the danger clearly, but the one lost in drink has lost even the memory of why they should stop."
Kannan looked at the man again and realized that the man's laughter was actually a sign of his loss of wisdom. From that day on, Kannan understood that a clear mind is the greatest strength a person can have.
