One evening, driven by desperation and hope, he went to a quiet temple to pray for guidance. As he sat in deep meditation, a divine light filled the room. A compassionate deity appeared before him and said, 'Tenali, your sincere prayers have reached me. I am here to grant you a wish.'
Suddenly, two shimmering golden bowls appeared in front of him. One contained a glowing blue liquid, and the other held a sparkling golden liquid. The deity explained, 'The blue liquid is the Nectar of Wisdom. If you drink it, you will possess intelligence so sharp that no one in this world can outsmart you. The golden liquid is the Nectar of Wealth. If you drink it, you will never face the sting of poverty again. However, there is one condition: you must choose only one. Do not drink from both.'
Tenali Rama looked at the two bowls. A clever spark ignited in his eyes. Instead of choosing one, he quickly poured the blue liquid into the golden liquid and drank the mixture in one gulp!
The deity was astonished and frowned. 'Tenali! I gave you a choice between two paths. Why did you try to take both at once?'
Tenali Rama smiled calmly and replied, 'Divine One, wisdom without wealth makes it hard to protect my family, and wealth without wisdom is easily lost to foolishness. To truly live a meaningful life, I need both to work together. Is it not better to have both than to struggle with only one?'
The deity was impressed by his quick thinking and logical reasoning. The anger vanished, replaced by a smile. 'Your wit is truly your greatest strength. Very well, since you have shown such intelligence, I grant you both wishes.'
With the blessings of wisdom and prosperity, Tenali Rama's life changed forever. He eventually joined the court of King Krishnadevaraya, where his brilliant mind and newfound abundance made him one of the most respected figures in the land.
