In a peaceful village nestled near the mountains, lived a kind farmer named Somu. He had a donkey named Mani, who was usually very helpful. One bright morning, Somu prepared to take his heavy baskets of fresh vegetables to the market in the next town. Because the mountain path was narrow and winding, Somu tied a soft rope around Mani's neck to guide him safely and ensure the baskets didn't slip off the edge.

However, Mani was a very stubborn donkey. Instead of feeling guided, he felt insulted. 'Why is he tying me up like a prisoner?' Mani thought grumpily. 'I work so hard, yet he treats me as if I have no sense of direction. I don't need this rope!' He decided that he would show Somu that he could go wherever he wanted without any help.

Suddenly, Mani decided to break free. He began to trot wildly, trying to pull against the rope. But the mountain path was steep and slippery. As Mani pulled harder to escape the rope, he lost his footing. He began to slide toward a steep embankment. Somu, seeing the danger, cried out, 'Mani, stop! Stay calm!'

Thinking the rope was pulling him into danger, Mani lunged even harder in the opposite direction. In a moment of panic, Somu realized that if he didn't let go, Mani might fall with the heavy load. Somu quickly loosened the rope to prevent a disaster. Mani stumbled and tumbled down a small slope, landing in a patch of bushes. He wasn't badly hurt, but he was shaken and frightened. Mani realized that the rope wasn't there to hurt him, but to keep him on the right path. He learned that resisting help can lead to much greater trouble.
