In the heart of a lush green forest lived a fox named Felix. Felix was quick and clever, but he had one great flaw: he was very proud of himself.
One evening, as the sun began to dip behind the tall mountains, the sky turned a deep orange. Felix climbed onto a high, flat rock to watch the sunset. As the sun hung low, Felix's shadow stretched out across the forest floor, appearing much larger and more terrifying than he actually was.
Felix looked at the massive, dark shape on the ground and gasped. 'Look at me!' he whispered to himself. 'I am a giant! With a shadow this big, I must be the strongest creature in the entire world!' His heart swelled with false pride.
Just then, a wise old lion named Leo came walking through the clearing. Seeing the lion, Felix didn't feel fear; instead, his ego took over. He stepped in front of Leo and barked, 'Stop right there, Leo! Don't you see this shadow? I am the true king of this forest. You should leave this place and find somewhere else to rule!'
Leo stopped and looked at the small fox with pity. He tried to warn Felix that a shadow is not a real strength, but Felix was too blinded by his own vanity. He began to snap and growl, trying to act like a predator. In his attempt to prove his greatness, Felix lost his balance on the slippery rock and tumbled down, realizing too late that his pride had made him foolish. He learned that true strength comes from character, not from a trick of the light.
Moral
Pride leads to a great fall.
