In a peaceful village nestled near the mountains lived a gentle young elephant named Gaju. Gaju was loved by everyone. Every day, he would wander into the village, accept treats like bananas and sugarcane from the kind villagers, and then head back to the forest with a happy swing of his trunk.
However, a tailor named Ravi lived in the same village, and he couldn't stand Gaju. Ravi was a jealous man. Whenever he saw Gaju eating freely, he would grumble, 'Look at that huge animal! He does no work all day, yet he lives so comfortably on everyone else's hard work!'
One sunny afternoon, a local festival was being held. Gaju arrived, and the village children were thrilled. A little boy asked if he could ride on Gaju's back. Gaju gently lifted the boy and walked around, making everyone smile. The boy's parents were so happy that they brought a large basket of fresh fruits as a thank-you gift for the elephant.
Watching this from his shop, Ravi's anger boiled over. He decided to teach Gaju a lesson. He took a large, ripe banana and carefully hid a sharp needle inside it. When Gaju approached his shop, Ravi pretended to be very friendly and offered the banana as a special treat.
As soon as Gaju bit into the fruit, the needle pricked his mouth. Startled and in pain, Gaju rushed to the nearby pond to wash his mouth. While splashing the water, he noticed that the muddy, dark silt from the bottom of the pond was sticking to his trunk and mouth.
A clever idea struck Gaju. He realized that Ravi had tried to hurt him on purpose. To teach the tailor a lesson, Gaju filled his trunk with the thick, muddy water from the pond. He walked quietly toward Ravi's tailor shop.
Ravi had just laid out several expensive, brightly colored fabrics, ready to be stitched for important customers. Just as the tailor turned his back, Gaju stood before the shop and sprayed the muddy water everywhere with a loud 'Whoosh!' The beautiful fabrics were instantly covered in dark, ugly stains.
When the customers arrived and saw their ruined clothes, they were furious. They began shouting at Ravi for being careless with their orders. Seeing his ruined business and the angry crowd, Ravi realized that his attempt to harm an innocent animal had only resulted in his own loss. He felt deep regret for his unkindness.
