In a lush, green forest, a lion named Simba ruled as king. Simba was a kind and fair ruler, but he faced a great challenge: the animals of the forest did not get along. They lived separately, often arguing over small things, and never helped one another. This lack of cooperation made the forest a chaotic place.
One morning, news reached Simba that a large swarm of venomous snakes had taken over the main stream. This stream was the lifeblood of the forest, providing water to everyone. The snakes had coiled themselves along the banks, hissing fiercely at any animal that dared to approach for a drink.
Simba marched to the stream and roared, "This water belongs to all the animals! You cannot claim it for yourselves. Leave this place at once!"
However, the snakes did not budge. Instead, they worked together, swarming around Simba’s legs and attempting to bite him. Even though Simba was strong, the sheer number of snakes was overwhelming. Realizing he couldn't fight them all alone, Simba had to retreat.
Seeing the lion retreat, a group of elephants marched forward. "We will show everyone that we are the true protectors of this forest!" they trumpeted. They tried to stomp on the snakes with their heavy feet, but thousands of snakes climbed up their trunks and legs, biting them. Terrified, the elephants also ran away.
Next, a flock of eagles tried to swoop down and carry the snakes away. But every time an eagle picked up one snake, ten more would slide into its place. Each animal tried to solve the problem individually, but each attempt ended in failure.
Watching from a distance, a clever fox realized the real issue. "The animals are strong, but they are fighting alone. That is why the snakes are winning," the fox thought. The fox went to Simba and asked him to call a meeting of all the animals.
At the meeting, the fox spoke sternly, "Because you lack unity, a small group of snakes has taken control of your home. If you cannot work together, you are no longer worthy of this forest!"
The animals were saddened and realized their mistake. "Please, King Simba, help us! We promise to work together," they pleaded.
The fox then proposed a clever plan. "The snakes' strength is their venom, but their fear is the porcupine. Porcupines have no venom, but their quills are sharp. If we can make the porcupines' quills dangerous, we can win."
A bear stepped forward and said, "I know of a special poisonous herb. If we coat the porcupine quills with its sap, they will become as deadly as a snake's bite."
Working as a team, the animals gathered the herbs. The monkeys carefully applied the poisonous sap to the porcupines' quills. Then, a large group of porcupines marched toward the stream. When the snakes tried to attack, they were met with the stinging, poisonous quills. The snakes, confused and terrified, began to fall unconscious.
With the snakes weakened, the elephants used their strength to clear the path, and the bears drove away the larger serpents. Seeing their defeat, the snake swarm fled the forest forever. From that day on, the animals lived in harmony, knowing that their true power lay in their unity.
Moral
Unity is strength; when we work together, no obstacle is too great to overcome.
