On a chilly winter night, a young boy named Leo was fast asleep. Suddenly, a soft tapping sound at his window woke him up. When he rubbed his eyes and looked out, he couldn't believe his eyes! A boy, looking as if he were made of starlight, was standing there.
"Hello, Leo!" the boy whispered. "I am on a mission to bring small joys to the kind souls in this village. Would you like to be my guide?"
Leo, filled with excitement, pulled on his warmest sweater and hat and climbed out through the window. The boy had a small wooden cart filled with wonderful things. Leo stepped up to help push the cart through the quiet, moonlit streets.
"Who should we visit first?" the starlight boy asked.
"Let's go to Old Mr. Barnaby," Leo suggested. "He lives all alone by the oak tree, and I think he could use some warm cookies." The boy handed Leo a basket of treats, and Leo carefully placed them at Mr. Barnaby's doorstep.
Next, Leo pointed to the garden near the river. "The gardener, Sam, works so hard every day. He needs some fresh, juicy oranges to keep his energy up." Together, they wheeled the cart to Sam and left a basket of fruit for him.
Leo spent the whole night guiding the boy, feeling a strange sense of happiness with every kind deed. When the sun began to peek over the hills, Leo woke up in his own bed. The window was tightly shut.
"Mom! Dad! I went on a magical journey last night with a starlight boy!" Leo exclaimed at breakfast.
His mother smiled warmly. "Leo, it might have been a beautiful dream. But that boy represents your own kind heart. Your desire to help others was so strong that it appeared in your dream."
"If you want to help them, we can make it happen in real life," his father added. That afternoon, Leo and his parents visited Mr. Barnaby and Sam, delivering real gifts. Seeing the bright smiles on their faces made Leo's heart swell with joy.
As they returned home, his mother hugged him and said, "You don't need a magic boy, Leo. You are the magic. Your kindness is your superpower."
Leo realized that being kind wasn't just a dream; it was the best way to live.
