Deep within a lush, green forest, a mysterious legend floated among the animals. It was said that a magical tree lived in the heart of the woods, and anyone who made a wish before it would see their heart's desire fulfilled. However, a warning also followed the legend: the wishes granted by the tree often brought unexpected troubles.
One sunny morning, three unlikely companions—a clever donkey, a greedy fox, and a strong bear—set out on a journey to find this legendary tree. As the forest grew denser and the paths more tangled, they decided to split up. 'Let us each wander in a different direction,' the donkey suggested. 'Whoever finds it first shall have their wish granted.'
It was the bear who found the tree first. Driven by power, the bear roared, 'I wish to be the King of this forest!' A booming voice from the sky replied, 'Your wish is granted.' The bear marched proudly toward the main clearing of the forest, expecting cheers. However, the current Lion King was unwell, and the forest ministers were searching for a temporary ruler. Seeing the mighty bear, the monkey minister suggested him for the role. At first, the bear loved his new position. But soon, the reality of leadership hit him. Every animal came to him with endless complaints: 'My nest is broken!', 'I cannot find water!', 'The rain is too loud!' The bear was constantly interrupted and could never sleep. Realizing that his wish had brought nothing but endless headaches, the bear fled deep into the shadows of the woods.
Meanwhile, the fox discovered the tree. Thinking only of wealth, she whispered, 'I wish for mountains of gold and sparkling jewels!' The sky answered, 'Look near your own home.' Excitedly, the fox raced back to her den and found piles of gold glittering in the grass. But her joy was short-lived. The other animals began to ignore her. When she was hungry, they would say, 'Why ask us? You are the richest animal in the forest! Go buy your own food!' Loneliness and hunger soon outweighed the glitter of the gold. Realizing that wealth without friends was a curse, the fox buried her treasure in a deep hole and returned to her simple life.
Finally, the donkey reached the magical tree. Unlike the others, the donkey did not ask for power or riches. Instead, the donkey looked up and said, 'O Magic Tree, I wish for all the animals in this forest to live without hunger or fear. May those in trouble find help, and may everyone find peace.'
A gentle, melodic voice echoed through the leaves: 'Because you asked for the happiness of others, peace shall be your constant companion, and your needs shall be met through your kindness.'
The donkey returned home to find a strange thing happening. Whenever the donkey helped an animal, more food and resources seemed to appear. Because the donkey's wish was to help, the forest became a place where animals looked out for one another. When the donkey shared food with others, there was always enough left for the donkey too. The donkey became the most respected and beloved member of the forest, proving that a selfless heart is the greatest magic of all.
