In a peaceful village lived a mischievous boy named Kavin. Kavin was very bright, but he had a habit of playing naughty pranks. He would often hide sweets or snacks and eat them secretly, leaving his mother searching for him all over the house. One afternoon, Kavin decided to hide inside a large empty cupboard after eating all the cookies in the jar. His mother searched everywhere, calling his name, but he remained silent, enjoying his secret feast.
When he finally emerged, his mother was not happy at all. She realized he had been hiding and eating the treats. "Kavin, since you love playing hide-and-seek and eating without permission, you have a task!" she said firmly. "You must paint the entire garden fence with white lime to make it look new."
Kavin sighed and started painting. Just then, his friend Rahul walked by. "What are you doing, Kavin?" Rahul asked. Kavin’s mind raced. He saw an opportunity. "Oh, this isn't work, Rahul! This is a special painting game. I actually paid my savings to my mom to get permission to play this game!" he lied cleverly.
Rahul’s eyes widened. "Can I play too?" he asked eagerly. "No, no," Kavin replied, "it costs a little bit of treasure to join. If you want to play, you must give me that cool toy car you are holding!" Rahul agreed, thinking it was a fun game. Soon, another friend named Arjun arrived. Kavin told him the same story and convinced him to trade his colorful marbles for a turn with the brush.
By the time the sun began to set, the fence was sparkling white, and Kavin had collected several toys and treasures. He proudly showed the finished fence to his mother. Watching from the window, his mother saw the whole scene. She wasn't sure whether to scold him for his trickery or laugh at his incredible wit. In the end, she couldn't help but smile at how clever her little boy was.
