In a lush, green forest, every creature was buzzing with activity. The monsoon season was fast approaching, and the animals knew they had to prepare. The squirrels were busy gathering nuts, and the ants were tirelessly moving grains to their underground homes.
Among them lived a monkey named Milo. Unlike the others, Milo was incredibly lazy. While the forest worked hard, Milo spent his days swinging aimlessly or napping on thick branches. "Why work so hard now? The sun is shining today!" he would yawn, ignoring the warnings of the changing winds.
Suddenly, the sky turned grey, and a heavy downpour began. The wind howled through the trees. All the animals retreated to their warm, dry shelters. Milo, however, was left shivering in the rain, soaked to the bone, with no dry place to sleep and nothing to eat.
From a small, sturdy nest tucked away in a nearby bush, a little sparrow named Pip watched him. Feeling sympathetic, Pip called out, "Milo, my friend, if you had built a shelter and stored some fruit when the sun was out, you wouldn't be struggling like this now."
Instead of being grateful, Milo felt embarrassed and angry. He hated being told what to do, especially when he knew he was wrong. "Mind your own business, tiny bird! I don't need your lectures!" Milo roared. In a fit of rage, he reached out and swiped at Pip's nest, knocking it apart and scattering the precious seeds Pip had gathered.
Pip sat in the rain, heartbroken, looking at her ruined home. Milo sat alone in the cold, realizing that his anger had only made his situation worse by losing a kind friend. He learned too late that ignoring good advice leads to trouble, and hurting those who care for you is a great mistake.
Moral
Listen to wise advice when it is given, and never mistreat those who try to help you.
