In a peaceful valley lived an old, wise man named Samuel. Everyone in the village respected him for his calm nature and thoughtful words. One evening, as the golden sun began to set, Samuel was seen frantically searching through the grass in front of his small cottage.
A group of curious youngsters, Leo and Maya, noticed him and hurried over. "Grandfather, is everything alright? Are you looking for something? We would love to help you!" Leo asked kindly.
"Oh, yes, dear children," Samuel replied with a sigh. "I have lost the small brass key to my wooden chest. I cannot find it anywhere."
Leo and Maya immediately knelt down and began searching through the pebbles and flowerbeds in the bright courtyard. After a few minutes of searching, Maya looked up and asked, "Grandfather, do you remember exactly where you last had it?"
Samuel pointed toward the dark, dense woods behind his house. "I was sitting by the old oak tree in the backyard when I last held it. It must have fallen there."
Maya looked puzzled. "But Grandfather, if you lost it in the dark woods, why are we searching here in the bright courtyard?"
Some villagers passing by overheard the conversation and began to chuckle. "Look at the wise old man!" one whispered. "He is looking for his key in the light just because it is easier to see, even though he knows it is in the dark. How silly!"
Samuel smiled gently and stood up. "You are right, my friends. It is much easier to search where the light shines. But I am teaching you a lesson. Many people spend their whole lives searching for happiness, peace, or success in the wrong places—simply because those places are easy, bright, and popular. But true answers are often found in the places where the work is hard and the path is dark. You must look where the truth lies, not just where it is comfortable."
The villagers fell silent, reflecting on his words. They realized that they, too, often chased easy things instead of searching for what truly mattered.

Do not seek solutions where it is easy; seek them where they actually exist.
