In a sunny little village, there lived a dog named Buster. Buster was a friendly dog, but he had one big problem: he was never satisfied with what he had. He always thought there was something better just around the corner.

One afternoon, Buster’s stomach began to growl loudly. He hadn't eaten anything since morning. He wandered through the village market, sniffing every corner, but every shop was closed. Just as he was about to give up, he spotted something wonderful near a butcher's stall. It was a large, juicy bone lying right on the cobblestones.

'Jackpot!' Buster thought, his tail wagging furiously. 'This is the best bone I have ever seen. I must take this home and enjoy it in peace.' He carefully picked up the heavy bone in his mouth and started trotting towards the forest where he lived.

To get home, Buster had to cross a narrow wooden bridge over a crystal-clear stream. As he walked across the bridge, he happened to glance down at the water. To his surprise, he saw another dog looking back at him from the stream! And that dog also had a large, delicious-looking bone in its mouth.

Greed suddenly filled Buster's heart. 'That dog looks like he has an even bigger bone than mine!' he thought. 'If I scare him, he might drop it, and then I will have two bones!' Without thinking, Buster decided to bark loudly to frighten the stranger.

But the moment Buster opened his mouth to let out a loud 'Woof!', his own bone slipped out. Splash! It fell straight into the deep, swirling water and sank to the bottom. The reflection in the water vanished instantly. Buster realized with a heavy heart that he hadn't seen another dog at all; he had only seen himself.

Buster sat by the stream, feeling very sad and hungry. He realized that if he had just been happy with his own bone, he wouldn't have lost everything to his greed.
