Near the edge of a vast forest lived two brothers, Somu and Ramu. Somu, the elder brother, was quite selfish. He never shared his food or his toys with Ramu. No matter how kind Ramu was, Somu would always act bossy and unkind.
One sunny morning, Somu went into the forest to collect firewood. Deep inside, he stumbled upon a magnificent tree covered in glowing blue fruits. To his surprise, the tree began to speak! "Please, Somu, do not cut me down," the tree pleaded. "If you leave me in peace, I will give you five of these magical blue fruits every single month."
Greed clouded Somu's mind. "Five fruits a month? That's too slow! If I chop this whole tree down, I can sell the wood and the fruits all at once and become the richest man in the land!" he shouted. Angry at his greed, the tree shook its branches violently, dropping sharp, thorny twigs that scratched Somu's legs. He fell to the ground, unable to walk due to the pain.
When evening came and Somu didn't return home, Ramu grew worried and went searching for him. He found Somu crying in pain. The magical tree spoke to Ramu, "This brother was greedy and tried to hurt me. If you leave him here and walk away, I will give you all my fruits. But you must leave him alone."
Without a second thought, Ramu replied, "I don't want any fruit. My brother is more important to me than anything. I cannot leave him like this!"
Moved by Ramu's selfless love, the tree's anger vanished. The tree used its magic to heal Somu's wounds and then showered them with hundreds of glowing blue fruits. Seeing how much Ramu cared for him despite his cruelty, Somu burst into tears. "I am so sorry, Ramu. I was wrong to be selfish. I promise to be a good brother from now on."
From that day on, the brothers lived happily and shared everything they had, guided by the kindness of the magical tree.
