In a peaceful valley, a farmer named Arul tended to his golden grain fields. Near his small cottage stood a massive, ancient banyan tree, home to a large colony of crows. Every morning, the loud 'Caw! Caw!' of the crows would wake Arul from his sleep. 'Those noisy birds never give me a moment of peace!' he would grumble, feeling quite annoyed by their constant chatter.
Despite his irritation, Arul had a kind heart. Every evening, he would scatter a handful of leftover grains near the tree for them. He didn't do it out of friendship, but simply because it was the right thing to do.
One summer afternoon, disaster struck. A massive swarm of hungry grasshoppers descended upon Arul’s fields. They moved like a green wave, devouring every leaf and grain in their path. Arul rushed out to chase them away, waving his arms and shouting, but the swarm was too large. He sat down by the edge of his field, watching helplessly as his hard work was destroyed.
Suddenly, a dark cloud rose from the banyan tree. It wasn't a storm, but the crows! Seeing the destruction, the crows swooped down one by one. They used their sharp beaks to catch the grasshoppers mid-air and on the stalks. The crows worked tirelessly, cleaning the field of the pests. Within an hour, the swarm had vanished.
Arul stared in disbelief. He realized that the very birds he had called 'nuisances' had become his saviors. 'I thought they were just noisy neighbors,' he whispered, 'but they remembered my kindness when I needed them most.' From that day on, Arul no longer saw them as pests, but as the true protectors of his farm.
