On the edge of a lush green forest, a rabbit named Kavi built a modest little cottage. Kavi was a simple soul who believed that a home should be cozy rather than grand. One sunny afternoon, his friends, Leo the Fox and Pip the Squirrel, came to visit his new dwelling.
As they stepped inside, Leo let out a loud sigh. "Goodness, Kavi! Is this a home or a tiny rabbit hole? It’s so cramped in here!" he remarked with a smirk.
Pip the Squirrel scurried around, looking disappointed. "Don't you have any taste, Kavi? A real home needs a wide porch, a massive pantry for nuts, and plenty of space for guests to lounge. This little hut is far too small for anyone to enjoy!" Pip complained.
They continued to criticize everything—the lack of a grand hallway, the small kitchen, and the tiny garden. They talked about how much better a mansion would have been. Kavi listened to their sharp words with a calm and patient expression.
Finally, Leo added, "I truly don't understand why you chose to live like this."
Kavi looked at them gently and said, "You are right. This house is small, and it lacks many luxuries. But do you know what my real worry is? My worry is that I don't even have enough true friends to fill this tiny room. No matter how large a house I build, if I have no one to share my joy or my stories with, it will always feel empty."
Leo and Pip fell silent, looking down at the floor in shame. They realized that while they were busy measuring the walls, they had forgotten to value the companion living within them.
