In a peaceful pond surrounded by reeds, a family of ducks lived happily. One mother duck waited eagerly for her eggs to hatch. Soon, tiny, fluffy ducklings emerged one by one. However, the last one to hatch was different. It was larger, with longer neck and feathers that didn't look like the others.
The other ducks in the pond were not kind. "Look at that strange bird!" they would quack loudly. "You don't belong here with us!" The lonely bird felt a deep ache in its heart. Feeling unwanted, it decided to wander away from the pond to find a place where it might fit in. It grew up alone in a quiet meadow, always feeling out of place.
Years passed, and the bird grew into a large, graceful creature. One afternoon, while resting by the edge of a crystal-clear lake, it looked at its reflection in a puddle and sighed. "Why am I so different? Why can't I be as simple and pretty as the ducks?" it wondered sadly.
Just then, a flock of magnificent white swans glided gracefully onto the lake. Their beauty was breathtaking. One of the swans noticed the lonely bird and swam closer. "Why do you carry such sadness in your eyes?" the swan asked gently.
"I am just a strange, ugly bird," the creature replied, looking down at the ground. The swan smiled kindly and said, "Do not believe what others say. Look into the water and see who you truly are."
The bird leaned over the still water. As its reflection appeared, its eyes widened in wonder. It wasn't a clumsy, grey duck at all. It was a stunning, pure white swan! The bird realized that it had spent years being sad because of the unkind words of others. With a heart full of joy, it spread its powerful wings and joined the flock of swans, finally finding where it truly belonged.
Moral
Never let the unkind words of others define who you are; discover your own true worth.
