In a bustling market town lived a young boy named Arjun. Arjun helped his father run a small grocery store. He was hardworking, but he often wondered if being extra careful with other people's goods was really necessary.
One sunny morning, his friend Rohan came to him with a heavy sack of premium Basmati rice. 'Arjun, my mother entrusted me with this to sell. Please take great care of it,' Rohan said earnestly. Arjun nodded, promising to be careful.
As the days passed, the shop became very busy. One afternoon, while weighing rice for a customer, Arjun thought, 'If I just take a handful of Rohan's rice and replace it with cheaper grain, no one will ever know. I could make a little extra profit.' He paused, looking at the sack. Then, he remembered his father's words: 'A true merchant treats a customer's goods with the same love and care as his own.'
Arjun shook his head and pushed the thought away. Later that week, a heavy storm hit the town. While other goods were slightly damp, Arjun stayed up late to ensure Rohan's sack was kept perfectly dry and safe under a heavy tarp. When Rohan finally came to collect the rice, he was amazed. Not a single grain was lost or damaged. Arjun felt a deep sense of pride that no amount of extra profit could have given him.
